The Applications Development Engineer will develop single use fluid system solutions for customer's fluid storage and transfer needs in the Life Science markets. The candidate will conduct design for manufacturability reviews, provide technical assistance and develop, build and implement tooling and processes solutions in support of customer needs. System designs will be sampled, tested, and validated to meet customer performance, design criteria and cost targets. Approved products will be transferred with all documentation to operations to meet production timelines. Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience in plastic or silicone injection molding.
Minimum 2 or more years of applications engineering and/or manufacturing engineering experience.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, project management & organizational skills.
Proficient in use of computers, spreadsheet software, CAD experience with SolidWorks, Autocad or equivalent. Excellent interactive skills. Must be a team player with all levels & functional departments.
Able to work closely with Sales, Manufacturing & Customers regarding medical, laboratory & biopharmaceutical products & applications.
Effective communication & presentation skills essential-both written & verbal.
DFSS (Six Sigma) Green Belt certification a plus.
Up to 25% Travel possible.
Responsibilities:
Project management of all facets of new products from prototype, pre-production to production stages. Manage all aspects of projects coordinating activities between internal functions (sales, customer service, marketing and manufacturing) and customer's engineering team. These activities can occur at the local site or across global facilities. Lead or participate on project development teams for medical, lab, or biopharmaceutical market segments.
Design and develop new processes and/or process improvements for fluid storage and handling systems. Develop and implement necessary design of experiments (DOEs) through development stages to characterize process windows.
Assist customers and provide sales and marketing support by providing technical solutions for fluid storage and handling programs.
Respond to customer request for quotes (RFQ) by reviewing customer specifications, developing efficient and cost effective manufacturing processes, specifying materials and calculating cost estimates.
Ensure completion of Internal Qualification Process (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new products/systems for new equipment, tooling and processes designated for manufacturing including inspection, data generation and reporting. Manage Capital Appropriation Requisition (CAR) process for development programs under their direction.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
