Extrusion, Injection Molding, Assembly--this site deals mainly with silicone rubber, but we use many component parts that are in other materials. Our largest growth area has been in Injection Molding-making manifold systems for the manufacture of vaccinations. We deal mainly with the pharmaceutical market. Some of the work that is done here is for other sites. Travel will be within the states and global. We deal with all the big pharmaceutical companies.

Your unique role with the company: Reporting to the Development Engineering Manager, the Applications Development Engineer will develop products, components, and solutions, provide design of manufacturability review, technical assistance and project management expertise. This position will work closely with sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Research & Development and Customers in the Pharmaceutical, Medical and Laboratory markets.
Project management of customer programs or new products from prototype, pre-production to production stages. Manage all aspects of projects coordinating activities between internal functions (sales, customer service, marketing and manufacturing) and customer's engineering team. This can occur at the local site or across global facilities.
Projects may require activities ranging from developing material specifications, product testing, prototype development, part drawings and tooling designs to meet customer or standard product designs.
Assist customers and provide sales support by providing technical solutions for Life Science Market products.
Lead or participate on product development teams for medical, lab or pharmaceutical market programs.
Respond to customer quotes by reviewing customer specifications, outlining the manufacturing process, developing product/process cost estimates.
Exhibits and assures company conformance to safety awareness and safe work practices.
Ensure completion of Internal Qualification Process (IQ/OQ/PQ) on all tools or new processes for manufacturing as required and manage the Capital Appropriation Requisition (CAR) process for development programs under their direction.
Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

We are 25 miles NW of Midland.
Saginaw and Bay City are less than an hour away.
Detroit is 2 hrs. South.
Most travel is done through MBS Airport-45 minutes from the site-no traffic/easy drive--highway and expressway.
We are in a rural area but within minutes from shopping malls, Great Lakes Loons Baseball Team-Farm Team for the Dodgers, Midland Center for the Arts, Midland Community Center, golf courses, ski mountains, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and many lakes.
Colleges-2 community colleges and 3 Universities less than an hour away and we do have a tuition reimbursement program.

What we are looking for in a Candidate:
BS degree in Engineering discipline
2-3 or more years of technical experience in a Pharmaceutical/Medical manufacturing environment-extrusion and molding.
Process engineering experience in thermoplastics or silicone materials.
Ability to run several customer and development projects simultaneously.
Injection molding and or extrusion experience--A strong tooling back ground is preferred
Must have ability to clearly articulate concepts and specifications to customers.
Up to 50% Travel possible.















Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
